Essay Topics - Using Articles for Article Writing

Essay Topics - Using Articles for Article WritingChris Van Allsburg has been called the best writer in America. His books have sold over 10 million copies and he's probably written the best of them all, The Stranger by name, and The Glass Castle. In this excerpt from his thoughts on essay topics, Chris focuses on how to write a thought-provoking article, how to best make the article readable, and what to include that's new to him. When you choose your essay topics, you need to first decide what you want to write about. How do you know what topics to write about? Answer: You're not the only one. Every single person reading this should know the type of material they'd like to read about. That means you can use everything from news stories, to opinions, to stories that are real and genuine. When writing on topics you are familiar with, such as if you've done research, it can be a little scary subject matter. Knowing the common opinion, idea, or thought from that type of topic can help you write an interesting article. The article needs to come across as if you're thinking about that thought or idea in the moment. Think about it the same way you would if you were talking to someone face to face, and let your thoughts flow out. After you know what type of thought you'd like to write about, you should consider the importance of grammar and formatting as well as an excellent sentence structure. If you can't get your point across, you won't have much hope of persuading readers. This is where having a good first draft will come in handy.Having a good sentence structure means you'll be able to convey ideas easier, and it'll come across as much more interesting. It also makes the article easier to read when you've finished the drafts. Using articles such as The Great Gatsby will help you get used to good sentences that are well-formatted.Next, write the article, no matter how big or small it is. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Just because you're writing an essay doesn't mean you have to feel that it's impossible to write. After you choose your essay topics, do something that's fun and interesting for you to do, and then you'll feel confident enough to write. Any author will tell you that the most important thing to have is confidence in your own writing. Believe in yourself and you'll have the best chance of getting the desired result.
